Thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night, and thanks to The Joiner Inners for inviting us to play with them. We had a great time, and can’t wait to come down and do it again!

Jeff and Chris spent a long and productive day recording Chris’s guitar tracks yesterday in a marathon session that included laughter, self-analysis, and epic grandeur. We’re on our way, ladies and gentlemen. Check out some new pics on Facebook!

Best of 2011 -- #1

Drum roll please…Fiesta Brava’s #1 album of 2011 is The Whole Love by Wilco. All four of us love this album and recommend it highly. “The band is having fun not only with sound but with structure, without sacrificing catchiness. Nearly every song contains some tangential surprise, odd hook, sonic back flip or midsong redefinition.” And that wraps up our list. Safe and happy holidays to you and yours!

Best of 2011 -- #2

‎#2 of our Top Ten Albums of 2010: The King Is Dead by The Decemberists. “I guess I’ve kind of come back to a lot of the more American music that got me going in the first place - R.E.M. and Camper Van Beethoven and all these bands that borrowed from more American traditions like Neil Young and The Byrds,” said Meloy of the album. Well, with forebears like that, of course this album is good!

Best of 2011 -- #3

Fiesta Brava’s Top 10 Albums of 2011: #3 is Metals by Feist. “On Metals Feist combines the sublime magic of her voice with songs that feature equally strong compositions to render an album that is easily one of the best of the year.”

Fiesta Brava's Top 10 of 2010: #5

Champ by Tokyo Police Club

This summer, Tokyo Police Club released their second album, Champ, and critics continue to sing the band's praises. As with their previous releases, Champ mines upbeat melodic guitar pop that is in keeping with the band's youthful presence while simultaneously moving to deepen and expand their sound, presumably with an eye toward their future and designs on longevity. Good move, especially for a band that was labeled "sci-fi pop-punk" upon their debut.

This is an al...

Infinite Arms by Band of Horses

Could less fuss have been made over one of the most beautiful albums of the year? Q Magazine called it a "strangely domestic affair" and it's true. Perhaps that is why you don't hear people raving about it in the same way they do the new Sufjan Stevens or Arcade Fire, two albums that are much more overtly ambitious. But despite its lac...
