Thanks to everyone who came out to the show last night, and thanks to The Joiner Inners for inviting us to play with them. We had a great time, and can’t wait to come down and do it again!

Jeff and Chris spent a long and productive day recording Chris’s guitar tracks yesterday in a marathon session that included laughter, self-analysis, and epic grandeur. We’re on our way, ladies and gentlemen. Check out some new pics on Facebook!

Yesterday Jeff let us know about this video from a recent show at The Sierra Grille in Northampton.  I’d forgotten that the microphone stand decided to slowly collapse!

Happy New Year!

It’s New Year’s Eve. We played a lot of fun shows in 2011, we wrote some new songs, and we began work on our first full-length album. Thanks to all of you who made it a good year. We’re hoping 2012 is even more exciting, stay tuned for more!

Best of 2011 -- #1

Drum roll please…Fiesta Brava’s #1 album of 2011 is The Whole Love by Wilco. All four of us love this album and recommend it highly. “The band is having fun not only with sound but with structure, without sacrificing catchiness. Nearly every song contains some tangential surprise, odd hook, sonic back flip or midsong redefinition.” And that wraps up our list. Safe and happy holidays to you and yours!

Best of 2011 -- #2

‎#2 of our Top Ten Albums of 2010: The King Is Dead by The Decemberists. “I guess I’ve kind of come back to a lot of the more American music that got me going in the first place - R.E.M. and Camper Van Beethoven and all these bands that borrowed from more American traditions like Neil Young and The Byrds,” said Meloy of the album. Well, with forebears like that, of course this album is good!

Best of 2011 -- #3

Fiesta Brava’s Top 10 Albums of 2011: #3 is Metals by Feist. “On Metals Feist combines the sublime magic of her voice with songs that feature equally strong compositions to render an album that is easily one of the best of the year.”

Fiesta Brava's Top 10 Albums of 2010: #10

December 16, 2010

As Posted on Facebook on December 14, 2010:

As huge music fans, we decided to put together our OWN list of the best albums of 2010--in this case, our personal favorites. What better way to count down the holidays? For the next ten days, beginning today, we will post one album a day from our Top 10. Consider this a recommendation, either for yourself, or if you're doing some holiday shopping, perhaps for that music fan you know. Today we begin with #10.

#10 : Plastic Beach by Gorillaz

You just gotta love where Damon Albarn has gone since the dissolution of Blur. Endlessly inventive, Albarn expertly straddles the line between high art and accessible pop sensibility, and no more so than on the third release by Gorillaz. "I'm making this one the most pop record I've ever made in many ways, but with all my experience to try and at least present something that has got depth," he said. Critical response has been generally positive, with an aggregate score of 77/100 from Metacritic, and even the notoriously cranky Pitchfork gave the album an 8.5! The album also debuted at #2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, with 112,000 copies sold in its first week. Way to go, Gorillaz!
